Study Abroad in Spain

The city of Santiago, which dates back to the 10th century, is located in the province of Galicia in northwestern Spain. The Cathedral of St. James, one of Europe’s largest cathedrals, dominates the city skyline. The city is famous as the location of the tomb of the Apostle St. James, the patron saint of Spain. During the academic year, this medieval city is inhabited by 35,000 students who attend the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.

Randolph students have the opportunity to engage in an intensive spring semester program that highlights Spanish language and culture under the auspices of the university department of Cursos Internacionales. To apply for the program, students must have completed the equivalent of five semesters of college-level Spanish. All courses are taught in Spanish. Students pay Randolph College tuition plus room and board costs in Santiago.
