: Implementation
To implement this new Strategic Plan, the President of the College and the
President-Elect of the Board of Trustees have appointed six working groups, each with
a specific charge related to one of six goals detailed in the Strategic
Plan.
The six working groups are...
Working group members include faculty, students, staff, alumnae, and
trustees. The faculty representatives were chosen in consultation with the
College's Faculty Representative Committee.
Each working group's charge includes developing specific approaches for
implementing its aspect of the plan, identifying necessary resources, and establishing
methods for measuring success. The many studies, reports, and suggestions that
College constituents have offered during the planning process will be valuable
resources for the working groups. External expertise also will be available
to these teams as needed.
The working group conveners are members of an Implementation
Steering Committee. The Committee is co-chaired by the President of the College
and the President-Elect of the Board of Trustees.
Implementation Timeline
2006, Late Fall
Implementation working groups will establish
principles based on the Mission, Vision, and Values of the
Strategic Plan as they apply to each group’s focus.
Review and comment on the principles are invited as they
are posted on the Web.
Building on the principles, the working groups will develop explicit and measurable
goals for achieving the principles. Where appropriate, timelines will be developed
to accompany goals. Again, review and comment will be invited.
2007, Early Winter
Each goal will have one or more strategies
attached to it. As principles and then goals are firmed,
each working group will develop strategies along with metrics,
responsibilities, and resource needs for reaching the goals.
The strategies will be posted on the web, and review and
comment will be invited.
2007, Spring
Working groups will submit reports to the
Implementation Steering Committee. Strategies will be implemented
progressively. Some can and will be implemented right away.
Some will be implemented as they are approved by regular
College governance procedures. Some, including those requiring
substantial funding, will also require Board authorization.
2007, May
The Implementation Steering Committee presented its
report to the Board of Trustees at its meeting on May 5. The
Board endorsed the principles and goals of the
Implementation
Plan for the College's Strategic Direction and expressed
gratitude to all who had worked on the Plan's development.
Readers are invited to review the plan and provide feedback
to Dixie Sakolosky dsakolosky@randolphcollege.edu.
Ongoing
All strategic plans are living documents. As the
working groups delve into their areas, constituencies provide
feedback, projects are funded and take shape, and normal
changes occur, implementation of the College’s strategic
plan will respond to these factors. We encourage you to be
engaged in the process with us.
