The campus Safety and Security Department offers a Safety Escort Service. This program will allow any member of the community to receive a safety escort at any time of the day or night within the campus grounds.

To request an escort, please contact the College Switchboard by dialing '0' from any campus telephone or call 434-947-8000 from your cellular phone - any of the emergency phones on campus automatically connect to the College Switchboard. An officer on duty will respond on foot or via vehicle to the requesting individual within five minutes.

If you are being escorted from a parked car, please leave the headlights of your vehicle on, stay in your car with the doors locked until the officer arrives. The responding officer will not be able to assist in carrying personal packages, as that would take away from his/her ability to handle an urgent situation, should one arise.

All requests for escorts will be logged by the Switchboard operator. The following business day, the director may contact the individual by email to request feedback by completing a brief customer service survey.
