Description: A resident reported that an unknown male had entered the residence hall. Campus security and police are investigating. A campus shelter-in-place directive was issued to the community as a protective measure. The directive was lifted by late morning.

Update: Investigation by Lynchburg police resulted in the arrest of a local man for multiple criminal incidents occurring in the City. - updated 10/21/2009

Description: The Bell Hall fire alarm was activated due to the malicious use of a fire extinguisher. No fire was present, though someone had activated the extinguisher without cause.

Location: 2500 Block Rivermont Avenue
Description: Resident reported seeing a burning flame in front of the Houston Memorial Chapel. Campus Security Officer observed a group of students burning an article of clothing. Fire was extinguished and the group dispersed.

Description: A Campus Security Officer observed a suspicious man sitting on the front lawn of the Casey Alumnae House. The man was believed to be the same person who was barred from campus property from a previous report.

Occurred: 9/19/2009 4:00:00 PM - 9/19/2009 4:20:00 PM
Location: 2500 Block Rivermont Avenue
Description: Campus Security Officers spotted a male on campus matching a similar description from previous hall incidents earlier in the month. Officers approached and questioned the man. The information obtained revealed that the male was not affiliated with the College in any way. He was asked to leave the property and not return. Follow up with police was initiated by Campus Security.
Disposition: Exceptional Cleared

Description: Staff employee reported seeing a student's unoccupied car with the door open in the Bell student parking lot. Resident notified.
