Physics professor Katrin Schenk published a paper entitled "Anti-saccade performance predicts executive function and brain structure in normal elders" in the Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology Journal
. This functional MRI study, done in collaboration with the Memory and Aging Center at the University of California, San Francisco, details differences in brain structure that correlate with performance of saccadic eye movements in normal elders. This work was focused on understanding the brain changes that occur during the normal aging process.
