LYNCHBURG, Va. —Lynn Rainville, assistant professor in the anthropology/sociology department at Sweet Briar College, will present a slide show and lecture examining Mesopotamian households on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 P.M. The lecture, titled "Households and Neighborhoods in Upper Mesopotamian Cities in the 4th-3rd Millennium BCE," will be held in room 537 of Leggett Building on the campus of Randolph-Macon Woman's College. The event is free and open to the public.Rainville has excavated at sites in Turkey, Syria, and Mexico and has received grants from the Virginia Foundation for Humanities, the American Research Center in Turkey, and the National Science Foundation. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College, and her master’s and doctorate at the University of Michigan.
