LYNCHBURG – Breanna Butler, a senior, won the Frederick B. Rowe Award for the Best Undergraduate Paper at the recent annual conference of the Virginia Psychological Association.

On April 11-14, senior psychology majors from the college traveled to Richmond to present their senior research papers at the annual conference. Each year, all R-MWC psychology majors present their senior research papers at this conference as part of the requirements for their capstone course in psychology. College students from across the state present and compete at the VPA conference.

Butler’s paper, Patterns of Sociality in Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, earned her the top undergraduate award.

“This is very exciting given the increasing number of presenters from a variety of institutions across the state at this year’s conference,” said Beth Schwartz, the psychology professor who headed the trip.
