Counseling center available for students in need

LYNCHBURG – Randolph-Macon Woman’s College officials are working with the local police department and closely monitoring events on Virginia Tech’s campus. While the incident is believed to be isolated to Virginia Tech’s campus, college officials are exercising a heightened sense of awareness.
Virginia Tech police officials have reported at least 30 people were killed and numerous people were wounded Monday morning in a shooting rampage on campus. The gunman was among the dead.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Virginia Tech family as they deal with this horrible situation,” said Virginia Worden, interim president.
The college’s counseling center will hold open sessions for students.
