Lola Haskins, award-winning poet, will hold reading March 28

Poet, author will read from her newest book

LYNCHBURG– Randolph-Macon Woman’s College will host Lola Haskins as she reads from her new book, Desire Lines, on Wednesday, March 28 at 8 the Jack Lounge of Smith Hall.

Haskins, an award-winning poet, teaches in PacificLutheranUniversity’s low residency MFA program.

Her advice book for people interested in poetry, Not Feathers Yet: A Beginner's Guide to the Poetic Life is slated to be published by Backwaters Press (NE) in April 2007, and Solutions Beginning with A, filled with fables about women and illustrated by Maggie Taylor, will be published by Modernbook (CA) in July 2007.

Ms. Haskins' currently in-print poetry collections include Desire Lines, New and Selected Poems BOA Editions, 2004), Extranjera (Story Line, 1998), The Rim Benders (Anhinga, 2001), Hunger (University of Iowa Press, 1993-- winner of the Iowa Poetry Prize), Forty-Four Ambitions for the Piano (University Press of Florida, 1990/ second edition Betony Press, 1992), and Castings (Countryman Press, 1984/second edition Betony Press, 1992).
