Free event open to students in fourth through sixth grades

LYNCHBURG – Randolph-Macon Woman’s College will host a Science Day for students in fourth through the sixth grades on Saturday, April 1 from noon until 4 p.m.
Sponsored by the College’s Chapter of the Society of Physics Students in conjunction with the SVEA, the event will all students from all across the region to test their science skills.
The event is free for students who register by March 20, and will be held in the Physical Education and Recreation Building off Norfolk Avenue.
R-MWC students will work the event, which includes science-based activities and prizes.
Students will be divided into groups and guided through a series of demonstrations and activities. Activities include trivia contests, building contests, and a science obstacle course.
A light snack will be provided for the students during the day.
Students should wear comfortable clothing that will allow them to participate in all activities without restrictions. A free t-shirt will be provided for all participants.
A parent or guardian must be present for all students. However, one adult can bring a group of students.
