UVa Professor to Provide Thayer Lecture

M. Jamie Ferreira will present: Leaps and Love: Rethinking Religious Faith and Imagination

M. Jamie Ferreira, the Carolyn M. Barbour Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia will present the Philip Thayer Memorial Lecture on April 14 at 4:30 p.m.

Ferreira is the author of numerous books and papers including Love’s Grateful Striving: A Commentary on Kierkegaard’s Works of Love, Doubt and Religious Commitment: The Role of Will in Newman’s Thought and Skepticism and Reasonable Doubt.

Her lecture, “Leaps and Love: Rethinking Religious Faith and Imagination” is free at open to the public. It will be held in The Wimberly Recital Hall of Presser Hall.

Ferreira graduated from Brown University in 1973. She received her post graduate degrees from Princeton University. She has been at the University of Virginia since 1980. She taught at Yale University from 1976-1980.
