Lynchburg, Virginia — Randolph-Macon Woman’s College will host the second annual Student Undergraduate Research Forum (SURF) conference on February 5 from 9 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. in the Alice Ashley Jack Lounge in Smith Memorial Building.
The conference, a collaborative effort of Liberty University, Lynchburg College, Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, and Sweet Briar College, will showcase 20 original research projects by communication students from the four schools.
Communication professors at the four institutions established the conference to promote scholarship among undergraduate students by providing an opportunity for them to share research and exchange ideas. The students’ 10-minute presentations will represent weeks of research, data collection, and analysis.
Prizes will be awarded for the best presentations by a panel of judges: Robert Wimer, editorial page editor for the Lynchburg News & Advance , Tab O’Neal, television weatherman, and Wendy Warburton, alumnae communications coordinator, R-MWC.
