LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Randolph-Macon Woman's College Chorale, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Randall Speer, will take part in an eight day performance tour of Jamaica over the College's spring break. The trip marks the first-ever international performance tour in the history of the college. Upon their return, the Chorale will offer a special homecoming concert in Smith Hall Theatre on the R-MWC campus on Tuesday, March 16th at 7:30 PM. The homecoming concert is free and open to the public.
Under Speer's direction, the Chorale initiated the College's first choral touring program with a three-day excursion to Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2001. The group has since traveled to Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Washington, D.C. They have performed in the Washington National Cathedral, the National Presbyterian Church, and a number of public and private venues.
Throughout the existence of the college, the Chorale has been an active component of R-MWC's student life. Traditionally, the group prepares four programs each year, including the annual Christmas Vespers and tour programs.
