Lynchburg Reads Event Offers Live Video Chat with Yann Martel

The live video feed with the author of Life of Pi will take place March 14

LYNCHBURG--Lynchburg Reads, a community reading project of the Lynchburg Public Library, begins March 14 with an exciting evening event at Randolph College featuring a live video chat with Yann Martel, author of the 2013 title selection, Life of Pi.

Life of Pi won the prestigious Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2002. The film version received four Oscars at the Academy Awards, including the award for Best Director. The live video chat, beginning at 7:15 p.m., will be held in the Smith Hall Theatre.

This program is free and open to the public. Make it an evening out by attending an Indian Cuisine Buffet preceding the live video chat. Beginning at 6 p.m., dinner will be held in Randolph College’s Smith Banquet Hall. Tickets are $20 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 455-6330 by March 6. These events are sponsored by the Friends of the Lynchburg Library and Randolph College.
