Randolph College WildCat Theatre will kick-off the 2011-12 season Oct. 6-11 with Reasons to Be Pretty, a recent Broadway hit by Neil Labute.

To be staged intimately in Randolph’s Lab Theatre, Reasons to be Pretty is the story of Greg and Steph, a young couple on a collision course with marriage. All is fine until Greg is overheard commenting on some of Steph's physical imperfections. What ensues is a sometimes comedic, sometimes painful look at the difficulty of young love. In typical Labute fashion, Reasons to be Pretty captures the natural rhythms and beauty of everyday speech, while laying bare some of the most unattractive elements of human nature.

Hiawatha Johnson, Jr. directs this contemporary comedy, featuring Matt Cornpropst, Rebeka Baumgartner, Tom Heynen, and Sonja Cirilo. Audiences should be advised that Reasons to Be Pretty contains language not appropriate for all audiences.

Reasons to be Pretty will perform Oct. 6-11 with evening performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10/$8/$5. For more information, call 434.947.8562 or log onto
