LYNCHBURG –Randolph College welcomed the largest number of new students in years on Aug. 24. New student enrollment is expected to top 225, and overall enrollment is expected to increase from last year’s total of 524 to about 565.
“We are very excited about this incoming class and about the upcoming year,” said John E. Klein, president. “Not only are we experiencing another year of increased enrollment, we are seeing an increase in academic qualifications as well. Randolph College continues to make significant progress in every area, and we have much to be proud of.”
The 2011-2012 academic year promises to be an exciting one for the Randolph College community.
Work on the College’s $6 million Student Center renovation began this summer. The project, which was fully funded by five alumnae and their families, is expected to completely transform the center of campus and offer new amenities to students, faculty, and staff.
Other projects included the addition of a new teaching and learning center on the main hall of the library, and construction of Randolph’s new campus store in the newly renovated area near the dining hall. The College’s tennis courts were also replaced.
Returning students begin arriving Aug. 27. Classes for all students begin Aug. 29.
