LYNCHBURG—Randolph College is accepting applications for a Summer Latin Institute June 13-July 22. The new Institute is open to qualified undergraduates, qualified high school students, and others with an ambition to learn Latin. Two six-week courses will be offered. Each will provide six credit hours of college Latin.
Courses offered include: Latin 188 (Elementary College Latin). This course is the equivalent of two semesters of beginning college-level Latin and covers grammar, basic vocabulary, and reading of passages from Latin literature.
Latin 388 (Vergil’s Aeneid). This course offers an intensive reading of the entire poem in the original Latin.
The classes will meet three hours a day, five days a week during the six-week session.
