Randolph College will test its emergency alert systems Thursday, April 9 at 11 a.m. This testing will include the college’s audible sirens, e2Campus text messaging, mass campus e-mail messaging, and telephone voicemail messaging.
The college’s two audible sirens, which can be heard several blocks away, are located centrally on campus and are only used to alert the campus community of extreme emergency situations.
The college will conduct regular testing of its emergency alert systems, including the sirens, on the first Thursday of the months of January, April, July, and October. During each test, the sirens will sound steadily for 30 seconds at 11 a.m. on each of these days. During an actual emergency, the sirens will sound intermittently for one minute and will likely be repeated multiple times depending on the emergency.
Anyone with questions should contact Randolph College Security at 947-8000.
