In Memoriam Martha Crocker Spivey ’54 Martha was a homemaker, volunteer, and wife of Robert A. Spivey, president of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College from 1978-1987. After graduating from R-MWC in 1954, she took on many roles including that of first lady at the College. A woman of faith, Martha was at home in church and very active in Sunday school, the Altar Guild, and teaching young children. She enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, and bridge. She is survived by her husband, three children, their spouses, and five grandchildren. Above all, in family and friends, she lived with an amazing capacity for grace and love. Donnie Morgan ’81 Donnie graduated magna cum laude from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and received her Master of Arts in education and human development from George Washington University. With the Red Brick Wall calling her name, she returned to the College as the dean of students in the 1990s. After serving nobly at R-MWC, Donnie and her husband Mike enjoyed managing hostels for Hostelling International, including places in Buffalo, Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. Most recently she served as director of operations for Hostelling International Northeast Regional Seasonal Hostels. Beloved by many, Donnie passed away unexpectedly on November 22. 5 6 B U L L E T I N
