Paul Irwin named to selection committee for M. Gweneth Humphreys Award by Association for Women in Mathematics

Award honors former Randolph-Macon Woman

Paul Irwin, Randolph College's Charles A. Dana Professor of Mathematics, has been appointed by the president of the Association for Women in Mathematics to a two-year term on the selection committee for the M. Gweneth Humphreys Award. This prize, established in honor of a former Randolph-Macon Woman's College professor, "recognizes an undergraduate mathematics teacher who has had a significant impact on one or more female students through mentoring." He will also chair the selection committee in the second year of his term.
