Randolph College, a selective liberal arts college in Lynchburg, Virginia, invites applications for a position funded by the Hilseweck Foundation to enhance the diversity of perspectives at the College. This is a two-year appointment at the assistant professor level beginning July 1, 2010.
We seek a scholar who will offer two courses within her or his expertise each fall semester, and who each spring will join Randolph College’s signature American Culture Program, a bloc of interrelated courses and travel-study, which probes what it means to be an American by exploring broad themes (liberty, democracy, capitalism, race, religion, etc.) in American culture. The program includes visits to historic sites, workplaces, government agencies, churches, and museums both in Virginia and in other parts of the United States. Area of expertise is open, but we encourage applicants with strengths in the related fields of Religious Studies, Cultural Geography, and Anthropology.
Qualifications: PhD, well-advanced ABD, or equivalent; evidence of scholarly achievement or promise; and success in teaching undergraduates. Salary to commensurate with credentials and experience.

Description:
Randolph College (established as Randolph-Macon Woman’s College), a selective liberal arts college in central Virginia, invites applications for a tenure-track Faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in Theatre/ Performance in a three person department. The successful candidate will have a clear vision of the role of the Theatre curriculum in an undergraduate Liberal Arts environment and significant directing experience, a defined approach to actor training. A secondary area of interest in promotions, front of house, costume design and/or other production areas is highly desirable. Teach 2 – 3 classes per semester in directing, acting, Intro to Theatre, History, and other topics as developed, in coordination with adjunct schedules. Direct 1-2 main stage and 1- 2 Studio Season productions per year, and supervise student directors. Work with other faculty to manage an aggressive production season, coordinate guest artists in directing and design, mentor students in specialty areas, and develop the curriculum and production program. Position will manage a planned local touring program and help develop a summer production season. Other responsibilities include scholarly/creative activity appropriate for advancement within the college, active Department and college service and committee participation, and academic advising. Interest in developing community outreach desired. The Department of Theatre offers a BA degree with emphasis in performance and design/tech, and an interdisciplinary BFA in coordination with other Arts programs. The production program involves an average of 80 – 100 individuals from a broad spectrum of majors across campus with average of 3 per class year majoring in Theatre. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to undergraduate theatre education in a liberal arts environment, be affable, possess notable skills, and work positively under pressure. MFA (preferred) or PHD required. Teaching experience on the college level preferred.

Randolph College seeks an experienced and innovative admissions professional for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management. Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Enrollment Management provides leadership and direction for the offices of admissions, student financial services, and student success. The Vice President oversees the development and implementation the College’s recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and retention policies and practices. The Vice President is expected to work closely with key institutional stakeholders to refine a recruitment plan for the College which creates a strong and consistent link between the College’s external communications and overall enrollment goals. The new Vice President will also oversee and evaluate financial aid policies and practices to ensure strategies support the College’s enrollment and net tuition revenue goals and work closely with student affairs and academic affairs to craft a comprehensive campus-wide retention program. This position manages a staff of 20 and serves as the division budget officer.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree is preferred, with progressively responsible experience within admissions, financial aid, or enrollment management. The new Vice President will ideally possess expertise in developing and implementing strategies for marketing and outreach to students, including international, transfer, and graduate students, with a successful record of administration in short and long range planning, budgeting, and program development, and with knowledge of strategic enrollment management that includes retention planning. The Vice President for Enrollment Management is expected to work closely with faculty, students, parents, alumnae, staff, and administrators and be a collaborative and contributing member of the President’s senior staff.
