Special presentation offers interdisciplinary view of Darwin's impact
LYNCHBURG – Randolph College will celebrate the life of Charles Darwin Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. with an evening of presentations by professors.
“This event celebrates the birth of a monumental figure of human inquiry, sharing with others some examples of how Darwin’s insights affected not only biology, but many other academic disciplines, including the arts,” Schwartz said.
The presentations honor the 200th anniversary of Darwin and will feature the following speakers:
Doug Shedd, professor of biology: “Darwin’s Life and His Impact on Biology.”
Dennis Goff, professor of psychology: “Darwin’s Impact on Psychology.”
David Schwartz, associate professor of philosophy: “Darwin and Moral Philosophy.”
Laura-Gray Street, assistant professor of English: “Artful Darwin.”
The free event will be held in Room 225 of Martin Science Building.
Birthday cake and other refreshments will also be served.
