Schwartz, who was recently appointed to the APA's Committee on Public Policy, will also speak at Davidson College
David Schwartz, a Randolph philosophy professor, has been invited to participate in the Forum at Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. Each year, Centenary's Philosophy Discussion Group hosts the Forum, which is held March 11-12 and is considered a unique exercise in public philosophy.
Organizers of the forum choose a topic, invite an academic expert to talk, and arrange a panel of students and community members to respond. Comments from everyone–including the academic experts–are published in the Shreveport Times , the leading newspaper for the ARK-LA-TEX.
The March forum will feature a discussion of ethical consumerism.
Schwartz has also been chosen to speak on consumer ethics at Davidson College next semester. He was also recently appointed to the American Philosophical Association's Committee on Public Policy.
