Leanne Zalewski, assistant professor of art, had an article, "Art for the Public: William Henry Vanderbilt’s Cultural Legacy," published in Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide , 11, no. 2 (Summer 2012).
In the article, Zalewski shows that the railroad magnate's art collection played a pivotal role in the history of art collecting in the United States.
