Students and Faculty present at National Conference

Environmental Studies and Organic Garden students share research at the Association for the Advancement of Higher Education Conference in Denver  


Four students, Erinn Sudol '13, Katherine Turner '13, Evan Pai '13, and Ludovic Lemaitre '11, along with Professor Karin Warren, Herzog Family Chair of Environmental Studies, presented research at the annual meeting of AASHE, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, in Denver, CO, Oct 10-12.

Erinn Sudol presented a poster detailing her summer research work with Louise Searle '12 and Professor Rick Barnes on using geographic information systems to analyze green space in the City of Lynchburg.

Ludo Lemaitre and Professor Warren presented a field research talk on the challenges and opportunities of climate action planning at small colleges.

Ludo Lemaitre, Evan Pai, and Katherine Turner presented a poster on promoting sustainable communities, which described the Randolph College Organic Garden and Permaculture Program.

The group also enjoyed dinner and networking with several local alumnae, sponsored by alumna Cathy Greer. The trip was sponsored by the Summer Research Program and the environmental studies department.
