National Music Publishers has announced their intention to publish two a cappella choral works by Professor Randall Speer.
The comical Marian: A New Orleans Madrigal, is a re-engraving of Speer’s first published work, initially printed while Speer was an undergraduate student. Marian, set as a battle between madrigal and blues styles, was reviewed in the American Choral Directors Association Choral Journal as “as significant contribution to the choral repertoire.”
The second work, a Czech Christmas carol titled Nesem vom Noviny, was recorded by the National Lutheran Choir, and employs bell-like imitation and whistling.
