Physics Faculty Chosen as Jurors for International Physics Competition

Peter Sheldon will serve as Head Juror while Tatiana Gilstrap will also serve as a juror.

Two Randolph College professors have been chosen to participate in the United States Invitational Young Physicists Tournament. Peter Sheldon, a physics professor, has been invited to be Head Juror, while Tatiana Gilstrap, an environmental sciences professor, has also been invited to be a juror for the event. The tournament will be held in February at Oak Ridge National Laboratories. High school teams from all over the world work for one year on open ended problems that require theoretical and experimental research. The teams then come together at the tournament to present their solutions and have head-to-head debates ("Physics Fights") where they defend their research.
