Emily Yap Chua Guest Lectures at North Carolina Governor's School

Professor speaks on gender and sexuality in American popular music.

Associate Professor of Music Emily Yap Chua was a guest speaker at the North Carolina Governor's School Program, West Campus, on June 30, 2011, at Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Her lecture, "Gender and Sexuality in American Popular Music," discussed popular music ranging from the girl groups of the 1950s to Katy Perry.

The event was was attended by the entire Governor's School West campus, including faculty, staff, and approximately 300 students.
