Randolph Physics Professor Peter Sheldon has received nearly $7,000 in grants and sponsorship funds for this year’s Science Festival in March.

The festival, scheduled for March 25-27, offers a free weekend of events designed to spotlight a variety of ways in which science is connected to our lives. There will be hands-on children’s activities, as well as a range of spectator events, including a performance by Randolph dancers and a guest speaker who will talk about the physics of dance.

With the help of Jeannie Plybon, a Randolph grants coordinator, and Jennifer Newell, director of development at the College, Sheldon received a $3,900 grant from The Greater Lynchburg Community Trust, a $2,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation, and a $1,000 sponsorship from AREVA.
