Chad Beck, assistant professor of communication studies, presented at the Global Fusion 2010 conference. Beck's presentation, "Hybridity, Genre, and In-Program Advertising on Mexico's TV Azteca," examined the television industry practice of integrating advertisements into television programs and explored the cultural implications of global advertising in Mexico. The Global Fusion conference series promotes academic excellence in global media and international communication studiesis sponsored by a consortium of schools including Texas A&M University, the University of Texas at Austin, Ohio University, Temple University, and Southern Illinois University.
